Why do people say the quarantine is hard?

I was looking on social media earlier today (which may be my problem), and I kept seeing post after post about the quarantine being hard. It made me start wondering why and what is so hard about it. Don’t get me wrong: I wish we weren’t doing it. I wish I were in my classroom with my students, in my church on Sunday morning with my friends, at my parent’s house on the weekend, and at any store or restaurant I wanted to visit. What do teachers want parents to know?

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about this question recently. With the COVID-19 situation and being at home, I think there are a lot of things teachers wish parents knew. It’s our job to figure out what those lessons are. And I’m not sure they are the same for everyone. I’ve noticed that for me and my family, we’ve had the opportunity to slow down and…

Why don’t we just do it?

For years now…YEARS…I have been writing a blog in my head. Why has it taken me so long to do this? Life got in the way. With a full-time job (sometimes also a part-time job), raising 2 kids, and being a wife/sister/daughter/friend, I just never seemed to find the time. Several years ago I had a major wake-up call and realized it was time to change.  It was time to focus on me, my family, my dreams, and my God.  So, after all these years and all of these posts in my head, I’m finally doing it. Michael Jordan and Nike began telling us years ago, “Just Do It!”  But…
